IT Support Technician (Tier 1)

Port Coquitlam, BCFull-time, permanent, onsite$50k CAD

Bloom Recruitment is in search of an IT Support Technician to join our client's service team in Port Coquitlam immediately.

Our client is a well established managed IT service provider that has supported businesses across BC since 2008. They run a modern, automation focused practice with a loyal client base and a leadership team that invests in its people. This is an entry level role, and a good one: you do not need prior MSP experience or every product keyword on your resume. They will teach you their tools and processes. What they need from you is clear communication, methodical troubleshooting, accurate documentation and the judgment to ask for help before a small problem becomes a big one.

You will support business clients from the Port Coquitlam office and at client sites across Metro Vancouver, handling everything from tickets and Microsoft 365 issues to hardware deployments and office moves. The company runs a competency based path toward Tier 2, with weekly coaching and paid certifications along the way, so this is a first IT role that is built to grow into a second.

Responsibilities

Client Support and Ticketing

  • Resolve routine Windows, Microsoft 365, account, printer, peripheral, VPN and connectivity issues using documented procedures.
  • Keep HaloPSA current with the user, asset, issue summary, exact errors, steps, outcome, time and next action.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft 365, common hardware, printers and peripherals.
  • Basic understanding of IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN and account versus endpoint versus network issues.
  • A methodical troubleshooting approach, clear communication and strong documentation habits.
  • A valid BC driver's licence, reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance for regular business travel.
  • Ability to work the full onsite schedule and safely handle typical IT equipment up to 40 pounds, with accommodation where required.

Nice to have

  • An IT diploma, certificate path, practical labs, home lab, volunteer work or personal projects.
